Terrorist Act in the MRT?

When I entered the relatively empty train, I saw a packet of food under the seat. When more commuters entered the train, I noticed one common reaction. The fear that the packet could be a bomb. They either moved to the next coach, talked about it or stared at it. I cant help to feel amused. Out of morbid kaypohness, I took the packet away when I reached my destination.

Guess what is inside the packet. A packet of nicely sliced juicy roasted chicken meat :)

Vesak Day Special- Human Proportionality

I watched an interesting Vesak Day cartoon that teaches about human proportionality.
Here are the details
The length of head = Length of foot.
The Length of forearm = Length of foot.
Biggest diameter of head = 3 finger wrap.
Height = 7 foot length
Arm span = 7 foot length
Diameter of waist = 1 finger wrap.

hhmmmm...I wonder what else is proportionate.

Give Resolution 242 a chance.

I found an article in Yahoo News, Secret memo said to prove Israel knew occupation was illegal.

This serve as a reminder on the era I lived in. My thoughts run deep when i read this article. I want the senseless killing to stop and everybody to move forward. Give Resolution 242 a chance.

A secret memo proves that the Israeli government knew that its occupation of Palestinian land was illegal after it won the Six Day War in 1967, a British newspaper reported Saturday.

Theodor Meron, who wrote the memo as the Israeli foreign ministry's legal advisor at the time, said "I believe I would have given the same opinion today," according to The Independent newspaper.

With Israel now celebrating the 40th anniversary of the war, the 76-year-old Meron, who went on to become a leading international jurist, challenges Israel's long-held argument that settlements do not violate international law.

The Independent said it obtained a copy of his legal opinion, which was marked "Top Secret" and "Extremely Urgent."

Quoting its author, the newspaper said the memo concluded "that civilian settlement in the administered territories contravenes the explicit provisions of the Fourth Geneva Convention."

Meron also told the newspaper that then foreign minister Abba Eban was "sympathetic" to his view that civilian settlement would go against the Hague and Geneva conventions governing the conduct of occupying powers.

But the Labour government at the time progressively approved the settlements in the captured West Bank despite the secret legal opinion which had been passed on to then prime minister Levi Eshkol.

Such actions paved the way for at least 240,000 Israelis to settle in the the West Bank.

Meron, who served as president of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia until 2005, was also quoted as telling the Independent that the settlements have proven to be a real stumbling block.

"It's obvious to me that the fact that settlements were established and the pace of the establishment of the settlements made peacemaking much more difficult," he was quoted as saying.

In the Six Day War in June 1967, Israel captured the Sinai peninsula from Egypt, the Golan Heights from Syria and the West Bank and East Jerusalem from Jordan.

Other Round on Root Canaling

Can you see the big canal the dentist have created? Cost me $500 to have a longkang. Anyway I was told to come back in december to crown my tooth. Estimated cost is $700.
The most painful part is you cant pay by CPF.
Why? The logical explanation that I can think of is root canaling procedure is more on cosmestic reasons.

To Boys and Gals....Brushing and flossing your teeth twice daily is nonsense. Resistance is Futile, the Bacteria is out to get you!!!

Muslim in a Judeo-Christian era.

I found this article in Yahoo! News. I feel that this is the clearest, simplest, factual explanation about what is happening to all the Muslim. I had this in my mind for so long and but not know how to express it in words. This guy just did it for me.

Malaysia's prime minister on Tuesday accused Westerners of prejudice against the Islamic world and said Western support for Israel was the biggest reason fuelling Muslim hostility.

"Much of the prejudice against Islam in the West stems from a lack of understanding of the true nature of Islam as a religion professed by 1.4 billion people in the world," Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said.

"Westerners tend to view other peoples and other cultures only from the perspective of Western benchmarks and philosophy," he said as he received an honorary degree at Tokyo's Meiji University.

But Abdullah also denied that history was to blame for current tensions between Islamic and Western societies.

"Explanation is to be found in more recent times, which is the repeated use of force or other machinations by the powerful over the weak to secure political, strategic or territorial gains," he said.

He said the most urgent problem was the Middle East and criticised Israel for deadly air strikes which the Jewish state launched last week on the Gaza Strip in response to rocket attacks on its territory.

The world "must accept the fact that a festering Palestinian problem, among all factors, is the single most important factor perpetuating the tension between the West in general and the Muslim world as a whole," he said.

"We must accept the fact that the plight of the Palestinians has come to epitomise everything that is unjust and unfair to the treatment of peoples," he said.

He said the Islamic world perceived Western nations as defending "Judeo-Christian tradition against the spread of radical militant Islam, thus legitimising all of Israel's actions no matter how brutal," he said.

"When you add to this the invasion of Afghanistan, the conquest of Iraq, the aggression against Lebanon and the continuing occupation of the Golan Heights, the Muslim world sees a ... complicity," he said.

"The feeling of being humiliated," he said, "has transformed into hostility."

In celebration of Singapore Workforce. I decided to try out Ear Candling. It suppose to be destressing and relaxing, but I found otherwise. How to .destress when you have to lie down side ways half naked in a unfamiliar area.

Anyway, my hearing is better now and I found the world is so noisy
